The Yeshiva University Museum and Yeshiva University Center for Israel Studies present “The Arch of Titus – from Jerusalem to Rome, and Back.” The exhibition opens September 14 and explores the shifting meaning and significance of the monument – for the victorious Romans, for the defeated Jews, and for both Christians and Jews over the subsequent millennia. The exhibit's creator and director, Professor Steven Fine, received a Shohet Scholarship for the project in 2015-2016.
The inaugural reception and exhibit preview will be on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. Please RSVP to RSVP@yum.cjh.org if you are able to attend.
The YU Museum and Center for Israeli Studies will also host a special international conference on the Arch of Titus on October 29, 2017.
The exhibit will run from September 14, 2017 through January 14, 2018. For ticket information, please visit www.yumuseum.org.
